The Water/Sewer Department maintains and constructs or contracts all water and sewer facilities within
the City.
Responsibilities include operation and maintenance of the City's water reservoirs, lines, pumps, hydrants,
sewer lines, lift stations, booster stations, water quality testing, and purification equipment.
The Water/Sewer Department is required to be certified in all areas mandated by City, State and Federal
regulatory agencies, which pertain to water and sewer functions. It is the Water Department's
responsibility to ascertain that the City remains in compliance with all government agency requirements.
The Water/Sewer Department works with contractors during new construction, maintains meters and
provides meter readings for billing on a monthly basis, and is responsible for cross connection control.
The Water/Sewer Department is also responsible for building and pool maintenance for the City's
Recreation Department and other departments as directed by the Mayor.
